Greg McElroy has made his prediction for the matchup of the week between Texas and Oklahoma.

The ESPN analyst and host of Always College Football is predicting a down-to-the-wire game between 2 of the most exciting teams in college football, but ultimately he’s favoring the Longhorns.

“This is going to be a heck of a game,” McElroy said on his show Friday. “It’s going to be a heck of a game between both Texas and Oklahoma. It’s great coaches on both staffs, it’s great coordinators on both staffs. I think it’s going to come down to the wire. I like Texas to win it, but I think Texas wins it in what should be a very close battle. I’m thinking like 31-27 Longhorns in this incredible matchup.”

This year’s matchup should be more exciting than last year’s 49-0 blowout win by Texas. The Sooners come into the game fresh off a dominant win over Iowa State and they’re seeking revenge.

But Texas has the College Football Playoff on its mind, and a win over Oklahoma was certainly put them in great shape to get there.

The matchup between the Longhorns and Sooners kicks off at noon ET Saturday.
