Greg McElroy broke down South Carolina‘s trip to Norman in Week 9 to face Oklahoma, and what it all will look like when the unranked SEC teams with still plenty to play for match up on Saturday in a 4:15 p.m. ET kickoff on SEC Network.

While the Gamecocks aren’t ranked, they are surging right now, coming off huge victories at Florida and at home against Tennessee. Those 2 galvanizing wins followed 3 straight losses that threatened to sink South Carolina’s season, but the Gamecocks (4-3, 2-3 SEC) have come roaring back through the middle of the season and now will look to make it 3 wins in a row on Saturday.

While South Carolina has renewed life, Oklahoma (4-3, 2-2 SEC) is coming off a nice road win over Mississippi State, so both teams might not have a number next to their names right now, but they come into the Week 9 showdown with plenty of mojo working their way.

Who will continue that mojo on Saturday? McElroy, during his Always College Football podcast earlier this week, is going with the home team in a close one.

“I’m taking Oklahoma to win the game, 23-21, at home. I do think the Gamecocks will keep it very close, and I think the game will be very low-scoring,” McElroy said. “Oklahoma’s defense, that’s the best unit in the stadium. But the offense, they’ve scored more than 23 points in only 2 games this season. I’m not sure they can pull away. The Sooners get it, but it might be ugly, and it might be a defensive battle.”

While McElroy gave his impressions of what he thinks will go down in Norman, here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about the South Carolina-Oklahoma showdown of unranked teams on Saturday afternoon:
