How the BCS rankings would have compared to this week’s College Football Playoff rankings

The BCS system is no longer used in college football, and has given way to the College Football Playoff rankings.
However, it’s still possible to simulate the BCS rankings, and after this week’s CFP rankings came out, the two look very similar.
As you can see below, the BCS standings would be the same as the CFP rankings through the first 10 teams, differing for the first time at No. 11:

The big benefit of the CFP is that it includes four teams, while the BCS only took the top two teams for the title game.
However, it’s clear that the current CFP committee thinks along the same lines as the former BCS computers.
