Head coach Hugh Freeze will guide Auburn on Saturday for the program’s first-ever matchup at Oklahoma. It’ll be a major contest in Week 4 as both teams are ranked for the SEC showdown in Norman.
Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold is in his first season with the Tigers after transferring from Oklahoma, where he played from 2023-24. However, Freeze isn’t relying on Arnold for any expert advice on the Sooners beyond the vibes at Memorial Stadium.
“We haven’t really talked about that. We’ve talked about the stadium atmosphere and things of that nature. I’ve never been there. I assume that it’s going to be like an SEC stadium and he confirmed that. How tight the benches are…,” Freeze said. “As far as schematics, we’re going with what our breakdowns say and what we see on tape from this year. Get a game plan that we hope gets him a chance to have success.”
Oklahoma leads the all-time series 3-0 vs. Auburn after winning 27-21 on the road last season. The previous 2 matchups before that came in the Sugar Bowl (1972, 2017).
No. 22 Auburn at No. 11 Oklahoma is slated for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on ABC.
