The 2025 Auburn football team has named its 4 starters for the season. Junior defensive end Keldric Faulk, senior defensive back Champ Anthony, senior running back Damari Alston, and junior center Connor Lew were all named captains and will lead the Tigers this season. They will also decide what the Tigers do at each coin toss during every game this year.

The Auburn football social media account released a video of head coach Hugh Freeze naming the captains after the team voted on all options. Freeze said that all of the options were deserving and that the few guys who just missed the vote were also worthy.

“Four very deserving guys,” Freeze said. “I celebrate them, and it’s a great honor. There were three other guys just a few votes behind them who were very deserving also.”

Keldric Faulk might be the best player on the entire Auburn roster. The defensive end is considered a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. He was the team’s highest-ranked recruit in the 2023 class, and last year, he had 7 sacks and 11 tackles for loss.

Champ Anthony is coming off a broken leg that he suffered last season. He has been extremely versatile in the secondary and has played all over the place, but this year, he will start at one of the safety spots opposite Kaleb Harris.

Alston has big shoes to fill after Jarquez Hunter leaves for the NFL as Auburn’s No. 4 all-time rusher. In three seasons, the Atlanta native Alston has 681 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Alston will take the majority of snaps when running back this year.

Lew is set for his third season as a starter for Auburn up front as the biggest key along the offensive line. He took over during his true freshman season due to injuries, but has been remarkably consistent. He was also already selected to the preseason third-team All-SEC team.
