Hugh Freeze would welcome ‘vote of confidence’ from Auburn AD John Cohen
Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze met with reporters on Monday afternoon to help preview the Tigers’ upcoming game against Arkansas.
Freeze’s job security is in serious question as Auburn prepares to face the Razorbacks this week. The Tigers are 0-4 in SEC play so far this season and are in danger of missing out on a bowl game for the second consecutive season.
Asked about a potential “vote of confidence” from Auburn athletic director John Cohen, Freeze said he would welcome such a development.
“It would be huge,” Freeze said. “That would make everyone feel a lot better, for sure. I haven’t talked to John. John has been so supportive, obviously since my hire.
“I know how close we are. I know I can get this fixed. We’re too dang close and we’ve got to get a little bit better play and a little bit better coaching at a few spots. I want a chance to fix this.”
