We are less than two weeks removed from National Signing Day and the constant upheaval of assistant coaching moves is only now beginning to slow down in the SEC. With the dizzying array of jobs changing hands within the league, we thought it would be interesting to round up the total number of full-time, on-the-field assistants to leave their jobs this offseason in the SEC.

By our count, either by their own choosing or by being let go, 37 assistant coaches have left their positions in the SEC this offseason.

Alabama and Ole Miss are the only two schools in the SEC to lose multiple assistants from the same position – offensive coordinator for the Tide, receivers and defensive line coach for the Rebels. Ole Miss leads the SEC with six assistants leaving with Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee ranking just behind with each having four coaches leave their respective programs.

Vanderbilt is the only program not to lose an assistant this offseason.

Is this a disturbing trend in college football, or simply a one-off high mark in assistant coach movement?
