Indiana student misses both kicks for $1 million in heartbreaking fashion on College GameDay
The Indiana Hoosiers welcomed College GameDay to Bloomington for the third time ever this weekend. The program’s second trip to Indiana during the Curt Cignetti Era granted a student the opportunity to capture $1 million dollars in Pat McAfee’s “Kicking is Easy” competition. Unfortunately, the student failed to capitalize.
Jackson Stallings, a man with kicking experience, will be kicking himself for some time after Saturday’s sequence of events. The former soccer player hooked his first kick just outside the left upright. When gifted a second try, history wound up repeating itself.

Indiana is hoping Stallings’ tough break isn’t a sign of things to come vs. Minnesota. The Hoosiers are three-touchdown favorites against the Golden Gophers, who have been a frisky foe for Big Ten teams all season. PJ Fleck’s team boasts a 27-24 road victory over Washington, but also lost 41-13 to Purdue on the road back on Oct. 10.
Curt Cignetti’s squad has struggled to score points in recent weeks, posting just 48 in its last three contests. Quarterback Josh Hoover’s injuries have undoubtedly played a role in the Hoosiers’ offensive woes, but those issues could rear their head in a game against a team that likes to muck things up. Minnesota and Indiana kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS).
