Jadan Baugh puts together rare stat line during Florida’s blowout win over FAU

Jadan Baugh and Florida had little trouble with FAU on Saturday, cruising to a 66-21 Week 1 win at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Baugh, entering his third season with the Gators and coming off a year when he ran for 1,170 yards, picked up where he left off. Against the Owls, he had 14 carries, 160 yards, and three touchdowns. It was his sixth career game with 100-plus yards and his second with at least three touchdowns.
It’s not common to see a Florida running back break the 150-yard plateau and rush for three touchdowns. In fact, according to Cole Cubelic, Baugh is only one of three Gators to do so in the past 30 years. Fred Taylor did it twice in 1997, going for 170 yards and three touchdowns at South Carolina before 162 yards and four TDs against Florida State a week later. More recenly, Jeff Driskel ran for 177 yards and three scores at Vanderbilt in 2012.
The Gators moved to 1-0 in the Jon Sumrall era with the win. Florida returns to the field on Sept. 12 as it hosts FCS Campbell at the Swamp before traveling to face Auburn on Sept. 19 in the SEC opener for both teams.
