Jamon Dumas-Johnson, a key cog on the defense for Georgia’s recent championship success, has announced his transfer destination.

Dumas-Johnson announced on Instagram, “The chip is there on BOTH shoulders #GoBigBlue #BBN.”

Dumas-Johnson had the 2023 season cut short by an arm injury, and he missed several games down the stretch. He made 34 tackles this season before he missed 4 games.

Dumas-Johnson delivered 70 total tackles, 9 TFL and 4 sacks as the second-leading tackler on Georgia’s 2022 national title-winning team. In 2023, he had 5.5 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks, but the injury came in the win over Missouri.

Coming out of high school, Dumas-Johnson was a 4-star recruit and the No. 22 LB in the country for the 2021 recruiting class. Across 3 seasons with the Bulldogs, he has 125 career tackles, 17 TFL, 9.5 sacks, 1 interception, 6 pass breakups and a forced fumble.

Dumas-Johnson is the second high-profile player to transfer from Georgia to Kentucky after former 5-star QB Brock Vandagriff did the same.
