Jeff Lebby was welcomed to a huge reception Monday afternoon at his introductory rally.

Following the festivities, Lebby took the podium to answer a few questions about his start at Mississippi State and his philosophy for bringing the Bulldogs to the top of the college football world.

Notably, Lebby told reporters that he will indeed be calling plays as head coach.

Lebby has seen a lot of success as a play caller. The Sooners finished the regular season with one of the best offenses in the country under Lebby’s watch, and Oklahoma is one of just 4 teams across the country that averages more than 500 yards per game offensively.

The question is whether that knack for play calling can translate when Lebby has control of the entire picture. Sometimes, the pure weight of responsibilities can affect how a savvy play caller performs in-game.

And there’s certainly a lot of belief that Lebby will succeed from MSU fans based on the incredible reaction to his arrival in Starkville.
