4-star 2018 LB JJ Peterson was the highest-rated player in the Tennessee Volunteers 2018 recruiting class, but he has yet to arrive on campus.
When last we checked in, coach Jeremy Pruitt was waiting for Peterson to finish up a class he needed to take before enrolling at Tennessee.
On Wednesday evening, Pruitt was asked once again about Peterson’s status, and once again, he said he still expects Peterson to be in Knoxville before the season starts:
โItโs the same deal,” he said. “Thatโs the good thing about any student-athlete โ once they finish up their requirements and pass the NCAA clearing house, as long as itโs not a deadline past entering school, they can start school and we still expect him to be here.โ
At this point, it’s anyone’s guess if he’ll end up playing in the 2018 season, but it’s certainly not looking good.
Per the 247Sports composite, Peterson was the No. 3 outside linebacker in the class of 2018 and the No. 7 overall player from the state of Georgia.
