Joe Burrow is about 9 months out from the serious knee injury suffered last season, but he continues to play well and lead the Cincinnati Bengals to a strong start in his second NFL season.

Burrow and the Bengals beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-21 on Thursday night after they trailed by 2 touchdowns at halftime. It is no surprise to coach Zac Taylor.

“Yeah, it’s not surprising,” Taylor said after the game, per Bengals.com. “When the line gives him time like they did, he’s going to be really tough to deal with. We have a lot of weapons, and we’re missing a big one tonight in Tee (Higgins). We count on everybody to step up. He hit Samaje (Perine) for a huge first down in empty. So, again, Joe is just seeing the field really well right now, and you put it in his hands and let him go.”

Burrow explained how the Bengals bounced back.

“There’s no panic in the locker room,” he said. “We knew we didn’t play great in the first half. It is what it is. But we had all the faith in the world that we were going to come out and play well in the second half. We’ve been a second-half team. We’re going to have to keep that finish, and we’re going to have to play better in the first half on offense, but I’m proud of the way we fought back.”

Here’s a sampling of the reaction to Burrow’s play:
