Joey Aguilar and Chris Brazzell gave Tennessee its first touchdown at Neyland Stadium on the first drive of Week 2’s matchup against East Tennessee State. Aguilar marched the Vols right down the field, thanks in part to a 50-yard rush by DeSean Bishop.

Brazzell found a soft spot in the coverage and Aguilar delivered a perfect 21-yard dart. Check it out below:

Sure, it’s ETSU, but Aguilar has picked up right where he left off against Syracuse. He’s already up to 70 passing yards on 5-7 passing with the above touchdown.

This is a great start for Brazzell, who struggled some in the opener against the Orange. The Vols receiver room was a bit of a question mark heading into the start of the season, but Braylon Staley, Mike Matthews and Brazzell are expected to be major contributors after Staley’s incredible Game 1.

This game against ETSU is essentially a formality. The Buccaneers are unlikely to see Tennessee’s starters in the 2nd half, which means Tennessee fans will likely see a lot of redshirt Jake Merklinger or true freshman George MacIntyre for the first time this season.

For now, Tennessee leads 17-0 with 8 minutes remaining in the first quarter after Star Thomas scored the Vols’ second touchdown of the day.
