Josh Heupel shares positive update on Tennessee coach William Inge
Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel shared an encouraging message about linebackers coach William Inge on Saturday night.
Inge has been hospitalized for much of the 2026 season while dealing with an unspecified medical issue. After Tennessee‘s Week 6 win, Heupel was able to share that Inge is close to being discharged from the hospital and will soon begin his recovery process.
Heupel acknowledged that Inge was “fighting for his life” and that his recovery to this point has been a “miracle.”
“Coach Inge faced a ton of adversity and was really fighting for his life, it really came out of nowhere,” Heupel said. “There’s a lot of people that have been praying … Sometimes it’s rare in this world that you get to see a true miracle right before your eyes but that’s truly what we’ve been able to see.
