Many analysts thought Alabama freshman Josh Primo should return to school to play the 2021-22 season under Nate Oats.

However, Primo decided to stay in the 2021 NBA Draft, and his stock skyrocketed as the event drew closer. Not only was he a first-round pick — by going No. 12 overall, he was the first SEC player to come off the board.

Now, he’s already drawing rave reviews during the NBA Summer League. In a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night, Primo scored 17 points and had some incredible step-back jumpers:

He only went 2-for-8 from 3-point range and turned the ball over 3 times, so he still has some things to work on, but it’s clear the Spurs have something to work with in the former Alabama standout.
