Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide had a tough start to the 2025 season after losing to Florida State, 31-17 in Week 1. The team is looking to bounce back against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night to get some positivity back in the program.
The job got tougher on Saturday night, as Kalen DeBoer confirmed that star offensive players Ryan Williams and Jam Miller would both be out for the game. That news had already been reported this week, but there were questions before kickoff as both Williams and Miller are suited up for the game against Louisiana Monroe.
Jam Miller dislocated his collarbone in the Crimson Tide’s final scrimmage, and he missed the opener against Florida State as well. He was expected to be the starting running back after rushing for 668 yards and seven touchdowns last year. That was second on the team to Jalen Milroe.
Williams played in the game against Florida State, finishing with only five catches for 30 yards. He left the game late, and it was announced that he suffered a concussion.
While the team is obviously ready to have its playmakers back, the Crimson Tide schedule is set up to get right and healthy the next couple weeks. After Saturday night’s game, they host Wisconsin next week and then have a bye before a huge Sept. 27 road matchup at Georgia.
