Kalen DeBoer gives injury update on star receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams
Kalen DeBoer has had to deal with a slew of injuries lately, which contributed to Alabama dropping back-to-back games earlier this month.
One of those prominent injured players just happens to be DeBoer’s No. 1 receiver, Ryan Coleman-Williams, who got banged up during the home loss to Georgia on Oct. 10 and was forced to watch the Crimson Tide fall at Tennessee on Oct. 17 as well as Bama’s bounce-back home win over Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon.
Missing Coleman-Williams has created a huge hole in the Tide’s passing game, with the junior standout catching 23 passes for 415 yards and 4 touchdowns in just 6 games this season. Coleman-Williams averages 18.0 yards per catch, so his ability to stretch the field is also crucial for Keelon Russell and Bama’s passing offense.
He’s been missed, but it sounds like Coleman-Williams could be coming back soon, like in the Nov. 7 showdown at LSU that follows Alabama’s bye week.
DeBoer said so during his appearance at the Birmingham Monday Morning Quarterback Club.
“I’m hopeful that he’ll be ready for the LSU game,” Kalen DeBoer said. “Ryan, I hope by next week he’ll be able to give us quite a bit.”
Alabama will take a much-needed breather this week, but then it’s right back to the grind in Week 10 with the annual early November clash against LSU. With the Crimson Tide desperately trying to stack wins, here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about Alabama’s potential victory total this season:
