Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer had an awkward exchange with a reporter at his weekly press conference on Monday.
Earlier in his press conference, DeBoer was recapping the Florida State game and said he thought Alabama had a “great week” of preparation for the Noles. However, a few minutes later, DeBoer appeared to forget about that comment when asked for clarification by a reporter.
“What do you mean, great week?” DeBoer asked. “I said that?”
When the reporter confirmed that DeBoer did say that, DeBoer had a very confused look on his face. Here’s a clip from the moment:
For those interested, DeBoer’s initial “great week” comment comes at about the the 26:25 mark of his press conference.
DeBoer went on to talk about how his Alabama team responded to its opening game loss to Florida State, stating that his guys have already shown him how bad they want it and how they’re going to respond to this loss.
“I really feel like the tone in the locker room after the game, at least from my standpoint, and how I can address the team is completely different than it was a year ago,” DeBoer said. “There’s more of, like, just a flat-out upset.”
