Alabama wide receiver Noah Rogers suffered a left leg injury during Alabama‘s A-Day spring game and had to be carted off the field. Soon after, head coach Kalen DeBoer said that Rogers’ injury would likely bleed into the season.
On Wednesday at SEC Media Days, DeBoer provided an update on Rogers. He still believes that Rogers will miss “some games early in the season,” but also mentioned that Rogers is coming along very nicely.
Here’s his full comment on Rogers:
โHeโs doing a great job,โ DeBoerย said. โEarly on, when he was first injured, probably a timeline that heโs surpassed. I would still expect him to miss some games early in the season. Iโm not going to set limits on what he can do, as far as how quickly he can come back. We want to be smart but he has done a phenomenal job, along with our elite training staff and medical staff, to execute the plan that was put in place. Heโs coming along very nicely. I guess Iโll just put it that way.โ
Rogers wound up at Alabama via NC State, where he starred for 2 seasons before entering the transfer portal at the end of last season. Across his pair of seasons in Raleigh Rogers totaled 68 receptions for 919 yards and 3 touchdowns.
With Rogers still likely to miss the start of the season, be on the lookout for freshman wide receiver Cederian Morgan, who DeBoer said Wednesday could play a significant role for the Tide as a freshman.
