Kaydon Finley shares classy message for other finalists after picking Notre Dame
One day after committing to Notre Dame, 4-star receiver Kaydon Finley shared a gracious message for the schools who came up short in his recruitment.
Finley is the son of former NFL tight end Jermichael Finley. He had an especially nice message for Steve Sarkisian and Texas given that his father starred for the Longhorns from 2006-07. He also gave a shoutout to Texas passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach Chris Jackson:
I have the utmost respect for coach Sarkisian and his staff. UT has always been a special place for me and my family. Coach Jackson has become one of my most influential mentors throughout this process, and I’ll value our relationship forever. With guys like Arch Manning and Dia Bell leading the way, Texas is set up for big success and I wish them nothing but the best.
After acknowledging the Longhorns, Finley also recognized Arizona State and Texas A&M for the time and effort they put into his recruitment. Kenny Dillingham and Mike Elko each received high praise from Finley.
Here’s Finley’s message on social media in-full:
While Texas, Arizona State and A&M all put up a good fight, Finley ultimately chose to begin his college career at Notre Dame. He’s a big pickup for the Fighting Irish — currently ranked as the No. 110 overall player and the No. 14 receiver in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Finley will be able to officially sign with Notre Dame during the Early Signing Period in December.
