Kellen Mond did more on Saturday night than lead Texas A&M to a 42-31 over division rival Arkansas. He became the Aggies’ all-time leader in total offense.
On a third-quarter touchdown pass to Jalen Wydermyer, Mond passed Johnny Manziel’s record of 9,989 career yards of total offense. Mond is now the only Texas A&M quarterback to reach 10,000 career yards (10,015). On Saturday night, Mond finished 21-of-26 passing for 260 yards with three touchdowns, adding six rushes for 32 yards.
Manziel fans will be quick to point out that Mond has been a four-year contributor while Johnny Football played just two seasons (2012, ’13) after redshirting his first year on campus. Mond was appearing in his 42nd Texas A&M, making his 39th career start.
The senior quarterback has five more regular-season games and the postseason to add to his career mark. Mond and the Aggies travel to South Carolina next week to face the Gamecocks.
