Make that 2 commitments for Kentucky football on Sunday.
Just minutes after landing a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Malachi Brown, Wildcats head coach Will Stein did it again with the commitment of 3-star linebacker Drew Williams. Don’t let the 3-star title fool you — several top programs wanted Williams, including Oregon, Miami, Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M, to name a few.
Williams is the 20th commitment of the 2027 cycle for the former Oregon assistant, who is putting together a heck of a class in Year 1 in Lexington. The Wildcats rank No. 14 in 247Sports’ team rankings, above SEC programs such as Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Texas… you get the picture.
Williams hails from Canton, Georgia and attends Sequoyah high school. He stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs in at 200 pounds, boasting some impressive downhill tackling. His commitment comes following an official visit to Lexington on Friday.
Williams is considered to be the No. 503 overall prospect in the country and the No. 39 linebacker in the Class of 2027 rankings. He’s also ranked as the No. 62 prospect out of Georgia.
Kentucky now has 3 linebackers committed in the Class of 2027. Alongside Williams is 3-star LB Antwoine Higgins and 3-star LB Ty Ashley.
