Kentucky defeated South Carolina in dramatic fashion on Saturday night in Columbia.

After trailing 17-0 early in the game, the Wildcats stormed back in the second half and even briefly took the lead over the Gamecocks. Kentucky and South Carolina ultimately went to overtime โ€” where the Wildcats prevailed 35-34.

South Carolina scored first, but Kentucky responded with a TD of its own. Head coach Will Stein opted to for 2 and the win โ€” a decision that paid off handsomely when Kenny Minchey found Willie Rodriguez wide open in the back of the end zone.

Here’s a look at the final play:

According to the broadcast, this was the biggest road comeback win in Kentucky football history. The Wildcats trailed by as many as 17 points in the second quarter.

Kentucky has now picked up massive road wins over multiple SEC opponents this season. The Wildcats won in College Station last month and are 2-1 overall in conference play.

Meanwhile, South Carolina is now 0-3 in SEC play and could face long odds to get to bowl eligibility this fall.
