Some Kentucky fans are not happy with Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel following the Vols’ blowout 34-6 win over the No. 6 Wildcats Saturday night.

Kentucky is now placed firmly behind Tennessee in the race for a spot in the College Football Playoff. Perhaps a move to stick it to the Playoff committee (or Kentucky after Wildcats fans painted Tennessee’s rock Saturday morning), Heupel decided against kneeing the football with a commanding late lead. DeSean Bishop plowed into the end zone to increase the Vols’ lead from 27-6 to 34-6 with just over a minute remaining.

As alluded to, some Kentucky fans took offense to this, despite the fact the Wildcats defense was perfectly capable of stopping Tennessee from scoring if they felt disrespected. Here are a few examples of Kentucky fans’ disappointment with Heupel and Co for the final touchdown.

The Vols thoroughly dominated Kentucky on Saturday. Tennessee’s defense forced 3 turnovers, and Kentucky failed to find the end zone all evening. Kentucky did not score in the second half and finished 6-of-16 on 3rd and 4th down. All this despite Kentucky owning the time of possession by a wide margin, 35:17 compared to 24:43.

Tennessee and Kentucky are now both 7-2 on the season with 3 games remaining in the regular season. The Vols are likely to be a top 10 team when the CFP rankings are released on Tuesday.
