Antwoine Higgins Jr. will play college football for Kentucky.
The Class of 2027 linebacker chose the Wildcats over offers from Purdue, Indiana and Louisville on Wednesday, giving Kentucky its 11th commitment in the 2027 cycle. Higgins, a 4-starlinebacker out of Anderson high school in Cincinnati, Ohio, stands at 6-foot-2, 223 pounds and committed to the Wildcats just days before a scheduled official visit to Indiana.
He’s considered a natural pass rusher by some recruiting services and was noted as a strong tackler with “little wasted motion” by 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivens.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Higgins is considered to be the No. 524 overall prospect in the Class of 2026, as well as the No. 42 linebacker and No. 18 prospect out of the state of Ohio. While his final group consisted of Indiana, Louisville and Purdue, he also held offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon and many other big-name brands in the world of college football.
As mentioned above, Higgins is the 11th commitment in Kentucky’s Class of 2027. He’s the second linebacker to commit to Will Stein and the Wildcats, joining 3-star LB Ty Ashley. On top of that, Higgins is the 4th highest-rated commit behind 4-star QB Jake Nawrot, 3-star safety Tristin Hughes and 3-star DL Elijah Brown.
