Kentucky is having one of the best seasons in the school’s football history, as the Wildcats moved to 7-1 last week after defeating Vanderbilt, 34-17. The lone loss on the season is to Alabama, and the Wildcats have won five consecutive SEC games for the first time since 1977.
With the play thus far in the season, the Wildcats are right in the thick of things in both the SEC and the College Football Playoff. ESPN came out with its post-Week 8 power rankings, and the Wildcats are No. 8.
Kentucky is even ahead of the Crimson Tide, who comes in No. 10 with 2 losses on the season.
Will Stein‘s team has been involved in multiple incredible games during the year, as the Wildcats had two consecutive 35-34 overtime wins where they went for two against South Carolina and LSU.
In the win against the Commodores, the Wildcats appeared to be a tired team, and the bye couldn’t come at a better time for Stein and his team. After the bye, the Wildcats will face off against Tennessee in one of the biggest matchups between the two programs in the rivalry’s history .
