Kentucky made history in its 117-95 win over No. 13 Alabama on Saturday.

That 117-point outburst represents the most points in school history against a team ranked in the AP Top 25. The previous record was set nearly 50 years ago when Kentucky scored 113 points against No. 13 Notre Dame. That stat comes courtesy of UK Sports Network statistician Corey Price:

Kentucky scored a remarkable 1.46 points per possession in the win over the Tide. When adjusting for opponent, per BartTorvik, that’s the best offensive performance Kentucky has had all season long.

Justin Edwards led the way with 28 points and was a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point range. Antonio Reeves was also excellent, scoring 24 points as he continues his SEC Player of the Year-caliber season.

Kentucky also got big performances off the bench from Rob Dillingham, Reed Sheppard and Zvonimir Ivisic. Dillingham scored 16 points while Sheppard contributed 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Ivisic had arguably his best game of the season as he chipped in 18 points and 5 boards in just 20 minutes.

Kentucky moved up to a No. 5-seed in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology update as a result of this victory.

The Wildcats will face Mississippi State in Starkville on Tuesday night as they continue to fight for seeding in the SEC Tournament. Kentucky residents who are interested in betting on that game can sign up with one of Saturday Down South’s top-ranked Kentucky sports betting apps to get in on the action.
