Key LSU starter is questionable for Florida game with injury, per report
LSU starting center Braelin Moore suffered a sprained ankle in the Tigers’ Week 2 win over Louisiana Tech.
According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos and Shea Dixon, Moore is “questionable” for LSU‘s marquee matchup against Florida in Week 3. The report says Moore is dealing with a high ankle sprain on his left leg.
Moore was spotted wearing a boot on LSU’s field following the win. He played just 1 snap before exiting the game with the injury. Here’s what happened on the play:
He was replaced at center by DJ Chester, who performed well in pass protection on short notice. He received a pass blocking grade of 82.5 from Pro Football Focus for his efforts.
However, Chester and the rest of LSU’s offensive line struggled mightily in the run game. The Tigers managed just 3.8 yards per carry against the Bulldogs — only marginally better than their mark of 3.5 against Clemson back in Week 1. Through 2 weeks, LSU ranks 100th nationally in rushing yards per attempt (3.63).
LSU tight end Trey’Dez Green is expected to miss the Florida game as well after he too suffered an injury vs. Louisiana Tech.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
