Kingston Preyear has been on the radar of several programs for a while, with some elite schools making up the bulk of the 2027 quarterback’s 23 offers.
The Montgomery, Alabama, product, rated as the No. 44 overall player and No. 4 quarterback in his class, now has a commitment date: July 10. He’s also zeroed in on three finalists, all in the SEC: Alabama, Florida, and Vanderbilt.
Preyear transferred to Benjamin Russell High School after his freshman season at Montgomery Catholic, which he led to a state championship during his freshman season. As a sophomore, he threw for 3,026 yards, 34 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. He also totaled 518 yards and two scores on the ground. Football isn’t Preyear’s only sport, either, as he plays baseball, basketball, and is a track and field athlete as well.
Preyear’s finalists are in different positions when it comes to quarterbacks they already have in the fold. Alabama currently has two pledged QBs in the 2027 class. Elijah Haven, from Baton Rouge, is the nation’s No. 3 player at the position; in-state product Trent Seaborn is No. 16. Florida has an in-state pledge from No. 11 QB Davin Davidson. Vanderbilt has a commitment from California’s Matthew Smith.
All eyes are on Preyear, though, whose decision date is just weeks away.
