The Georgia Bulldogs shook off their regular season woes against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday to pick up a huge 20-17 victory. Georgia (6-0, 4-0 SEC) is the last unbeaten squad in the SEC following its win and Texas‘ loss to Oklahoma. That might lead some teams to take their foot off the gas, but head coach Kirby Smart doesn’t intend on letting his players do so.

During his postgame press conference, Smart reiterated how tough the SEC’s daily and weekly grind can be. He told reporters that schools must be on top of their game to avoid humbling losses, alluding to the one the Longhorns suffered to the Sooners.

“Another week in the SEC,” Smart said. “Humility is a week away, as you saw today. [Next week] is gonna be physical. It’s gonna be tough.”

The Bulldogs, who opened as favorites over the Crimson Tide, went into kickoff as betting underdogs. Texas closed as roughly a touchdown favorite vs. Oklahoma, and Florida was a double-digit favorite when hosting South Carolina. The Longhorns, according to Colin Simmons, gave away the game to the Sooners in Dallas, while the Gators got stomped 38-19 by the visiting Gamecocks.

Georgia won’t be the ‘dog next weekend vs. Auburn. In fact, the Bulldogs are three-possession favorites on most betting markets against the Tigers ahead of a Week 7 bye, which is why Smart is already focused on keeping his team’s emotions in check the Week 6 triumph. Kickoff between Auburn and Georgia is at 3:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday, Oct. 17 (ESPN).
