Kirby Smart extension coming? Georgia president weighs in on potential deal

Kirby Smart just led Georgia to its first national championship since 1980, making him a very popular person in Athens these days.
He will likely be the Georgia head coach for a long time to come, but first, the school needs to finalize a contract extension for him.
Per Georgia president Jere Morehead on Thursday, there have been positive discussions around a long-term extension for Smart:
UGA president Jere Morehead said the athletic board in executive session “engaged in very positive discussions for a long-term extension," for football coach Kirby Smart. No terms finalized yet.

Smart is one of the best recruiters in all of college football. He also put together one of the best defenses in college football history this past season.
