It’s a good time to be a Georgia fan right now, as the Bulldogs are 8-0 and sitting at No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Ahead of a game against South Carolina this weekend, the Bulldogs are in a position where they could possibly clinch the SEC East.

On the “Herbstreit & Fitzsimmons” podcast with Ian Fitzsimmons, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit said he thinks the Bulldogs are a juggernaut right now (via 247Sports):

โ€œEnd of the day, Georgiaโ€™s heading in clearly a great direction,โ€ Herbstreit said. โ€œYou look at their stats and their efficiency on offense and defense. They are, right now, a juggernaut. Itโ€™s going to be tough for really anybody to match up with them.โ€

Herbstreit cited the fact that LB Roquan Smith was upset that the Bulldogs allowed a late touchdown in a 42-7 win over Florida last weekend as a sign of what Georgia is all about this season:

โ€œItโ€™s just a team thatโ€™s on a mission right now. He has his blinders on,โ€ Herbstreit said. โ€œHeโ€™s not worried about 42-7. Heโ€™s worried about what (their) goals were. Clearly a goal was to shut them out.

โ€œI love to hear him talk. I love to know that Georgia is in good hands when it comes to leadership of that team through a playerโ€™s perspective. We know about (coach) Kirby (Smart) and what heโ€™s trying to create there and heโ€™s done it very, very quickly.โ€

Georgia still has a tough matchup at Auburn on the schedule in a couple of weeks, but if the Bulldogs keep playing as well as they are right now, an undefeated regular season isn’t out of the question.
