ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit joined America in being impressed with Alabama backup QB Jalen Hurts’ incredible return to lead the Crimson Tide to a tying score with Georgia with 5:14 remaining in the game.
Hurts entered the game after starting QB Tua Tagovailoa left with an apparent ankle injury. Hurts converted four third down conversions. The scoring drive was highlighted by a touchdown pass to WR Jerry Jeudy from 10 yards out.
Many of the fans watching the SEC Championship recalled how Hurts was benched at halftime of the national championship despite a 26-2 record as a starter. Tagovailoa, of course, rallied the Crimson Tide to the victory.
It was the kind of script not even a Hollywood script writer could deliver.
Incredible job by Jalen coming into this game and leading Bama down to the tying TD!!
Converted 4 3rd downs!!
How fitting on THIS FIELD against THIS OPPONENT. 28-28 5:14 remaining.— Kirk Herbstreit (@KirkHerbstreit) December 2, 2018
