LSU’s 32-24 defeat at the hands of rivals Ole Miss certainly put a bad taste in the mouths of the Tiger faithful, but they also won’t be happy to hear about the injuries their team picked up during the loss.

Early during the fourth quarter, star tight end Trey’Dez Green hauled in a pass and was hit hard in the lower body by a Rebel defensive back. Green remained on the field for some time before being helped off and later going to the locker room.

With LSU‘s tight end having later been seen using crutches, that only added insult to the fact that safety Deshawn Spears had left earlier in the evening with a lower-body ailment.

Asked after the game about the status of those two players, Lane Kiffin provided a bleak outlook for the duo.

Neither seemed really well,โ€ Lane Kiffin said, referencing the injuries to Green and Spears. โ€œThey werenโ€™t close to returning.

Green and Spears figure to miss the Tigers’ upcoming clash with Texas A&M next Saturday, although an ensuing contest against McNeese would give them another week to get back without much impact on the result.

Donning the No. 7 for LSU, Green leads the team with 14 catches for 222 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Spears has racked up 7 total tackles, 1 sack and 1 pass breakup.
