Lane Kiffin and LSU got a nice bounce-back win on Saturday, as the Tigers knocked off Mississippi State, 31-0. The Tigers got a complete performance from the team, led by quarterback Sam Leavitt’s 4-touchdown performance.

The Bulldogs were down some key players, including star quarterback Kamario Taylor and running back Fluff Bothwell, who both missed the game. Kiffin was asked after the game if that took away from the win, and Kiffin was emphatic in his answer.

“I don’t have a lot of empathy for injuries,” Kiffin said. “This team from day one has gotten more bad breaks than any team in the country. We have a lot of people sitting on our sidelines, and we won 31-0. Really proud of our players and coaches for moving people around.”

For LSU, Leavitt was phenomenal the entire day. He finished 31-of-38 for 289 yards and four touchdowns. He was in complete control of the game, and did a fantastic job of not making any of the dangerous, risky throws that have hurt him at times this year.

The Tigers still control their own destiny when it comes to making it to the College Football Playoff, as they have some big games coming up. In their final five games, the Tigers host Alabama and Texas, while also playing Tennessee.

Up first for LSU is a game at Auburn in Week 8, and that game potentially could be bigger as the Tigers have Georgia on the ropes in Athens.
