Lane Kiffin laments mistakes in lackluster win over Vanderbilt

Ole Miss pulled out a dominant 26-point win over Vanderbilt Saturday night, but there were plenty of mistakes that Lane Kiffin addressed after the game.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart dished out an interception and had several questionable passes as well as fumbling once, although the Rebels were able to recover.

While Kiffin is happy to get a big win against an SEC opponent, he didn’t shy away from addressing the offensive mistakes.

“Very excited defensively, we played a bunch of guys there, we held them to 7 points,” Kiffin said. “So really pleased with that, but offensively, we didn’t have a very good 2nd half. It’s a 26-point SEC win and we get to the next round. We got a win, but still, we’ve got to play better. We didn’t throw the ball very well and accurate today, and so we got to do a better job of that.”

Kiffin is hoping his offense can correct those mistakes before a tough November stretch. The Rebels take on Texas A&M next week before facing Georgia in one of their biggest games of the year. With just one loss on the schedule, a win over the Bulldogs in 2 weeks could certainly put the Ole Miss in the Playoff conversation.
