Lane Kiffin burned bridges on his way from Oxford to Baton Rouge. That much has been reported in the weeks since the former Ole Miss boss took the LSU job and bailed on a College Football Playoff run.

But it seems Kiffin is not exactly interested in putting those fires out anytime soon. According to multiple reports on Thursday, Kiffin was allegedly working to destabilize the Ole Miss roster on the final day of the winter transfer portal window.

“As one source put it to me earlier tonight: ‘He’s speed dialing the whole roster,'” CBS Sports host Sudu Upadhyay reported on Thursday night.

On3’s Ben Garrett reported that, per a source, Kiffin was “trying to destroy our locker room.”

The two local Ole Miss reporters discussed the situation further on a live-streamed podcast Thursday night, characterizing the back-and-forth between the two programs as “hand-to-hand combat.” Kiffin is reportedly looking to convince some of his former players to follow him to LSU or, if nothing else, drive up the price for Ole Miss to retain them.

Things took a turn Thursday night when standout defender Princewill Umanmielen jumped into the transfer portal despite previously signing a contract to return to the school next year. He was immediately linked to LSU, among other schools, and fans quickly directed their ire toward Kiffin.

Lane Kiffin is playing petty. This is what he does,” Garrett said on his podcast Thursday night.

Ole Miss has signed 2 transfers from LSU during this winter window. One of Ole Miss’s 19 outgoing transfers has publicly committed to LSU thus far.
