Lincoln Riley and USC enter Week 9 with a record of 6-2 as they welcome in No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday in a game with huge implications in both the B1G race, as well as the College Football Playoff race.
The Trojans are still looking for a marquee victory and will try to bounce back after the 24-7 road loss at Wisconsin last week.

There have been rumblings on whether or not Riley will be the coach of the Trojans moving forward, as they haven’t been able to become a contender as many had thought when he took the job. Riley has even had his name mentioned at Baylor in a restart-type of situation, but the Trojans coach reiterated that he wants to be at USC.
“If I didn’t want to be at this place, I wouldn’t have come here in the first place,” Riley said. “If I didn’t want to be at this place, I have had plenty of opportunities to leave. This is where I want to be. This is the right place for me. I am the right person to be here, and that is as honest and transparent as I can be with you guys.”
Since he took over the job in 2022, Riley has a record of 41-20. His first season was the best, as the Trojans finished 11-3 with Caleb Williams as the quarterback.
One of the biggest talking points about Riley is that the Trojans haven’t been able to win the big game. The matchup against Ohio State is a huge opportunity for Riley and the team to get a huge win. With Julian Sayin out, the Buckeyes have some question marks of their own, and a loss in this game for the Trojans will only add speculation to Riley’s time as the coach.
