Les Miles has become a regular prognosticator in his days after coaching, and he regularly offers opinions on LSU games.
Today’s Citrus Bowl against Notre Dame was no different, as the former Tigers’ coach weighed in on the latest edition of his podcast Les is More which was shared by The Players’ Tribune on how he sees the game playing out.
“If the LSU team, if they play their best team, I think their defense is one of the best defenses that they’ve fielded, period,” he said. “I think the Dave Aranda defense is spectacular. I think the time that Notre Dame will have to prepare for Matt Canada’s motion stem-shift offense should benefit them over time.”
Miles added that LSU running back Derrius Guice is more likely to “hit a home run” than Notre Dame running back Josh Adams.
“I lean strongly to the LSU team,” he said. “It’s a big, physical Notre Dame team with a big tailback, a running quarterback, a quality defense, but not the same defense that LSU can put on the field.”
So it was an easy pick for Miles: “I’m going with the Tigers,” he said.
