Texas this week rolled out a “Texas Lives Here” campaign highlighting the “culture” and “state of mind” as the Longhorns get set to arrive in the SEC this summer.

Voiced by coach Steve Sarkisian, the Longhorns unveiled a video that said, in part, “Texas lives deep in the hearts of anyone who’s ever worn the burnt orange and white. It lives in the souls of Longhorn nation everywhere, and definitely rent free in the heads of our opponents. Now that we’re joining the SEC, reigniting old rivalries and forging new ones. Where Texas lives just got even bigger.”

At a lengthy town hall meeting, Athletics Director Chris Del Conte explained several updates and upgrades. There will be construction to begin on a football practice facility, and a new scoreboard and recruiting lounge at Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium. Also at the stadium, the Longhorns will refurbish the Touchdown Club, UT Club, and make suite corridor improvements on the east and north sides of the stadium. Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs will also join the stadium as a vendor. There will also be reduced ticket prices, on average.

The Longhorn Network will fold into the SEC Network, but Texas still owns the catalogue that LHN produced and is working on a home for that content that will roll out in June.

“I think for us to go to the Southeastern Conference, I can’t tell you how excited I am,” Del Conte said. “But we’ve been telling everybody, we’re gonna stay where our feet are and our feet in the Big 12 until July 1st, but we know the anticipation of going to the Southeastern Conference is coming and we wanted to let everybody know that Texas lives there.”
