LOOK: Arkansas fans pining for Hogs to hire Chris Beard as Texas Tech battles Gonzaga

The Arkansas Razorbacks fired longtime coach Mike Anderson this week after he failed to reach the NCAA Tournament.
Now, they’re looking for a new head coach, and many expect the Hogs to go after current Houston coach Kelvin Sampson, whose team just lost to Kentucky in the Sweet 16.
However, many fans want to see the Hogs make a play for a different coach — Texas Tech’s Chris Beard. Beard’s Red Raiders were locked in an intense battle with No. 1 seed Gonzaga on Saturday in the Elite Eight (the second year in a row Texas Tech has reached the Elite Eight).
As you can see below, Arkansas fans have been talking about hiring Beard on Twitter for a few days now:
Arkansas really needs to get Chris Beard. The only way imma ever get over firing mike is getting a guy that can get us to a elite level and he does seem like a great coach. Taking it to Gonzaga rn

Chris Beard and @TexasTechMBB remind me of Nolan Richardson and Arkansas' "40 minutes of Hell".
Gritty. Hands on you. Bumping. Harassing. Deflections.
Just a hell of a team. They just wear you down. #MarchMadness

Arkansas should hand Chris Beard a blank check to lure him out of Lubbock

Halftime thought:
If Arkansas hires Kelvin Sampson over Chris Beard, that’s just dumb. Dude has Arkansas ties.

Arkansas should offer Chris Beard $7M.
Before you tell me that’s ridiculous, keep in mind it isn’t my money so I really don’t care.— Greg Creamer (@CreamerDaCrop) March 29, 2019
I’m all for offering Chris Beard a 10 yr/$40M contract to come to Arkansas ??♂️ @HunterYurachek

Arkansas should load up the several armored vehicles they have on standby for the new men's basketball coach and drive to Lubbock and wait outside of Chris Beard's home. https://t.co/sdlngMHOPW

Sampson may still be the favorite, but it’ll be interesting to see how things play out in Fayetteville.
