After being drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, former Georgia LB Roquan Smith had many valuable items stolen out of his car.
Those items included an iPad with the Bears’ playbook on it, so the team was understandably invested in seeing their newest star get his property back (though they likely wiped the memory of the iPad remotely to protect the playbook).
After an arrest was made in the case, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department received a nice thank-you note from the Bears, as you can see in the post below:
The note in the photo thanks the officer responsible for lifting the fingerprints that led to the arrest and the rest of the department, reading:
โOfc. McQuien and Dept., on behalf of the Bears,
โThank you all for helping Roquan recover his stolen items. They would have been irreplaceable. We have you covered in Chicago!! You all are the best!!!โ
As you can see in the post above, the officers requested sideline passes, and deep-dish pizza from Pequod’s. Perhaps the Bears can make the latter part of that request come true.
