Former South Carolina standout WR Pharoh Cooper is set to return to the field for the Los Angeles Rams following an early-season ankle injury.

The Rams announced that they would activate Cooper to the 53-man roster in place of WR Cooper Kupp, who recently suffered an ACL injury. Cooper was designated to return earlier this week, after spending the mandated eight weeks on the IR. The return man injured his ankle Week 1 against the Raiders in Oakland.

A season ago, Cooper averaged 27.4 yards per kick return, and took one return for a touchdown. The third-year All-Pro return man is expected to resume his kick return duties if active on game day.

Cooper has 25 career catches for 190 yards, but he’s most dangerous on special teams.

Cooper in his career has one touchdown and averages 26.1 yards per return. He also has four kick returns of 40-plus yards. Cooper on punt returns averages 10.7 yards, but has eight returns of 20-plus yards, and two of 40-plus.
