Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry will be “involved” in discussions regarding the future of head coach Brian Kelly at LSU, according to a report by On3 on Sunday night.

According to the report, Landry openly questioned raising ticket prices at LSU after the Tigers were blown out on their home field by Texas A&M on Saturday night. Landry questioned the raising of the ticket prices after LSU’s “showing,” as he put it, in the loss on national TV at Death Valley. Landry will now be involved in those discussions that LSU is having with Kelly regarding his future at LSU, where he has been the head coach since 2022.

LSU is currently searching for a new president, which just increases Landry’s involvement with the school regarding its future power structure.

LSU’s potential handling of Kelly’s future is further “complicated” by its search for a permanent president, according to another report by Yahoo Sports on Sunday. The school has announced 5 finalists to be its next president, and that decision is going on at the same time as Kelly’s future is being discussed.

According to the Yahoo Sports report, Landry is expected to meet with LSU donors and board members in the near future regarding the school’s search for a new president. Landry will apparently also be heavily involved in those talks regarding Kelly’s future as the head coach at LSU.
