LSU has been looking for a complete performance this year, and the Tigers delivered just that on Saturday as they knocked off the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 31-0.
Quarterback Sam Leavitt is one of the more talented quarterbacks in the country, but he has been prone to turnovers. On Saturday, he avoided those mistakes, as he finished 31-of-38 for 289 yards and four touchdowns. Most importantly, though, Leavitt didn’t throw an interception — snapping his streak of throwing INTs in every game leading up to this week.
His favorite receiver on the day was Jackson Harris, who finished with six catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns.
As good as the offense was, the defense was also outstanding.
The Bulldogs were at a huge disadvantage on Saturday, as superstar quarterback Kamario Taylor missed the game due to an injury. Backup quarterback Parker Puckett finished with 121 yards and one interception. The Bulldogs had only 291 yards of offense, and the Tigers were able to get three sacks in the game.
LSU will be back in action next week when the Tigers hit the road to take on the Auburn Tigers.
