LSU’s coaching search hit a dead end Saturday night as Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley emphatically said that he’s not going to be the next head coach for the Tigers.

So, where does LSU’s coaching search turn now?

Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops has been reportedly in the mix for the Tigers job, along with others. Stoops was asked about his future at Kentucky and all the coaching rumors.

“Absolutely,” Stoops told Kentucky Sports Radio. “I mean, I don’t appreciate you putting me on the spot like that. I come on your show and give you my time. Really appreciate you and the way you get the fans fired up — but I love the Big Blue Nation. Yes, I absolutely plan on being here.”

Stoops has been reported as more of a “fallback plan” if the Tigers miss on primary candidates. Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher still seems to be a primary candidate, although he’s said multiple times that he’s staying in College Station.

Louisiana’s Billy Napier and Iowa State’s Matt Campbell remain candidates for the Tigers job, too.
