LSU flips in-state offensive lineman nicknamed ‘Big Hoss’ from SEC West rival

LSU added to its Class of 2024 on Monday with a commitment from Joseph “Big Hoss” Cryer, who announced on social media as he shared a picture of himself as a toddler holding an LSU football.

The 6-foot-4 and 290-pound interior lineman is from Natchitoches, Louisiana. Cryer had a reported 20 offers and had reported visits with Oklahoma State and Ole Miss. Cryer decommitted from Ole Miss over the weekend after he committed to the Rebels on June 2. He was recruited to LSU by Brad Davis.

He is ranked the No. 69 interior offensive lineman by the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 33 player in the state of Louisiana.

“First off I would like to thank god for putting me in this position!!,” he wrote on social media. “I also want to thank my family for helping me out through this process!!! With that being said I’m a 100 % committed to Louisiana State University!!”
