LSU tight end Trey’Dez Green suffered a knee injury in the Tigers’ win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday night, but it reportedly won’t be a long-term absence.
That’s according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who says Green is expected to miss LSU’s Week 3 contest against Florida but may be able to return in the near future.
That’s excellent news for LSU. Green was spotted after the game using crutches to get around on the field while also sporting a knee brace.
Green is a reserve tight for the Tigers, but is a significant weapon in their passing game, particularly in the red zone. Green notably caught what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in LSU’s Week 1 victory against Clemson.
Even without Green, LSU opened as an 8-point favorite against Florida. If you’re a Louisiana resident looking to bet on that game, here’s everything you need to know before picking a Louisiana sports betting app.
LSU has won 5 of the last 6 meetings in this series against the Gators, although Florida prevailed in Gainesville last season. The Tigers haven’t lost to Florida in Baton Rouge since 2016.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
