Karnell “Greedy” James has had a change of heart on where he wants to play college football.

James committed to Texas on Dec. 3. On Thursday, however, he scheduled another announcement about his college decision.

For Thursday, James presented Texas, LSU and Notre Dame as the 3 teams in play for his commitment. Considering he was already verbally pledged to the Longhorns, it wasn’t a good sign for Steve Sarkisian’s program that James wanted to make a public announcement regarding his college commitment.

James is now committed to Lane Kiffin‘s LSU Tigers.

Out of Manvel (Texas) High School, James is listed as measuring 6-1 and 175 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, James is rated 4-stars, the No. 24 safety, No. 43 player in the state of Texas and No. 282 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.

James gives LSU 15 verbal pledges. The class now ranks No. 15 nationally on the Composite. Texas, meanwhile, has the Composite’s No. 7 class with 21 commitments after James’ flip.
